This is the 5th saddle I tried and, finally, I have one I am happy with. It may not be the most comfortable seat out there but it does provide extra legroom and is a big step up in comfort over the stock seat. I have now put in a few 250 miles days with this seat and I am pleased. But once I got in broken in a little (200ish miles on it) the comfort level noticeably improved. I got the Drag Specialties Extended Reach Predator Seat and have been using it for about 6 weeks. Looking forward to my next ride to see how it performs. The seat is about 6 oz lighter than the stock seat, has a much stiffer pan (I had to remove my backrest pad to mount the seat), the pan is covered with fabric to protect the bike, and it has an indentation for the ECM module. My bike came with buckhorn bars and I have them turned down quite a bit, into "tiller position" I guess.īut some just put a tall windshield on there and are perfectly happy. Another way to accomplish that lean is to have lower grips. A little forward lean can help a lot too, so I ride with my feet on the passenger pegs a lot when I'm just droning down the highway. ![]() A low seat can help too, so the tank and gauges can get you under the worst of it. A short shield to get the wind off of your chest a bit can help, but right now the best I have is my dual gauges (accessory HD tach added). Some like to get windshields but I generally hate those because the air coming off of them tends to be very noisy. Id also owned a Drag Specialties seat before & wasnt really all that impressed. It's a problem with many of the Triumph Bonnevilles and other "standard" bikes like the old "UJM's" that copied the CB750. and predator arround 430 dollars but didnt heard that mutch about it I ended up going with the Saddlemen Step-Up because the reviews that I could find concerning both made the Step-Up seem like the better choice. There's a lot you can do to lose that feeling of being blown off the back of the bike at high speeds. I just wish Dragg would give a side-on view of the seat on the bike, so I don't have to guess where the rise at the back is, for instance. Also feels like I'm sliding off at higher speeds, hope it wears in eventually. ![]() I'm average height but with short legs, only a problem when wearing boots (work). I bought the le pera bare bones for my 04, it did the opposite (takes room away from rider). It sure looks like you are getting more room there. ![]()
